"Using horse and harp to heal hearts and lives."
Horse & Harp is a unique retreat program designed for wellness, healing, and stress relief. We utilize horse-assisted counseling and harp-facilitated journaling to support participants on their healing journey. Our Christ-based program is conducted in beautiful farm settings. We welcome non-profit organizations, businesses, and corporations.
Our Mission:
Using horse and harp to heal hearts and lives.
Our Vision:
To offer uncommon, life-impacting opportunities for healing, restoration and wholeness.
For centuries, humans and horses have partnered in many areas of life. Horses can teach us a great deal about ourselves, and are sensitive to the thoughts and emotions we carry. Up-close encounters with horses bring new perspectives to life’s challenges. Horse activities are conducted from the ground and do not involve horseback riding. Sessions are led by professionals certified by the
Equine-Assisted Growth and Learning Association. (EAGALA)
Harps have been recognized as instruments of healing for thousands of years. Harp music has a natural ability to create an environment conducive to healing, and can ease our pain and stress.
At Horse & Harp retreats, live harp music brings inspiration to journaling time. These reflective sessions are designed to prompt thoughtful insights while creating a peaceful atmosphere. Journals are provided for participants to keep.
Susan is a licensed professional counselor and facilitates the horse-assisted counseling sessions for Horse & Harp retreats. Her practice, Winning Strides, LLC, in Conyers, GA, offers counseling both in the office and in the arena with horses. She is certified by the Equine-Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA). Susan has become increasingly convinced that horses are truly a pathway to mental health and wellness. She has been riding since she was four years old and showing horses since her early teens.
As Horse & Harp Founder and Executive Director, Janet has combined her passion for horses and for music into a healing-oriented program offered to individuals that are working through the hurtful places in life. She designs and facilitates the journaling session for Horse & Harp retreats. Janet is a harpist, singer-songwriter, and recording artist. She specializes in original and improvisational compositions, which are essential for reflective, therapeutic music.
